<< Why deep traditional cultures only found in Japan? Part-1 >>
Last time I talked about deep traditional Japanese culture. And I
said there were almost no traditional Korean cultures like Japan because there
was a reason.
I will this time show you the huge
difference between Japanese culture and those Korean and Chinese cultures and
explain the reason for why only Japan is totally different from Korea and
China.
If you read this writing, you will understand
Korea and China are the same countries (actually they really were until
recently), and there is no cultural connection between Japan and Korea at all.
Does anyone know how deep traditional cultures were developed in
Japan? Like the ones over 500 or 1,000
years of deep traditional cultures?
If you ever visited Korea or China, you
would be surprised there were almost no historical architectures especially in
South Korea.
You’ll get impression, “Korea is a very new
country. We can’t find anything traditional”
True. If you look at North Korea, there is
no historical architecture in the country. That is the original condition of
Korean culture. There was originally nothing in Korea. What you find in South
Korea today are recently made up things based on their fantasy (not history). If
you find a village said to be traditional Korean architecture, that is like
movie set at Universal Studio. They were built recently. None of them existed
in actual Korean culture. They envied the traditional town of Kyoto in Japan so
they built a town resembling to Kyoto as movie sets. (Haha)
< Astonishing truth about East Asia >
In 2012, Bank of Korea revealed their investigation about
long-established companies and stores which lasted more than 100 years.
According to Bank of Korea, they found a
lot of them in Europe. The number of companies and stores which lasted more
than 200 years was as follow, 837 in Germany, 222 in Netherlands, and 196 in
France.
On the other hand, in China, they could
find only 5 companies despite China insisted to have 4,000 years long history.
Regarding Korea, they found only 7
companies and stores in addition to the fact that they could hardly find a
company that lasted more than 3 generations.
In other words, there are hardly companies
that can be called “traditional companies” which can support traditional
cultures of China and Korea.
Contrary to China and Korea, if it is
counted based on the companies which lasted more than 200 years, Japan has
3,113. In case the companies that lasted more than 100 years, Japan has more
than 20,000 companies and stores.

< Shinise >
Long-established companies are called “Shinise (She, Knee, Se) “in
Japanese language. When you call “Shinise” in Kyoto, which means the companies
lasted more than 300 years and it is nothing rare at all. There are companies
in Japan which lasted more than 1,000 years too. And one of them is an architect
company called “Kongo-gumi” established its business in 578. That means the
company has been lasting 1,440 years!
It is literally the oldest company in the
whole world.
The company is specialized to build temples
and shrines so even if any shrine or temple got burnt down, they could rebuild
it back to its original condition.
They are like time travelers from more than 1,000 years ago who actually built historical architectures back in the ancient time.

of world oldest companies in order from the oldest. Most of them are Japanese companies.

=================================
Japan’s deep traditional cultures were supported and developed by long
established companies. Without those long lasting companies, Japan could never develop
what Japan has today as traditional cultures.
For example, Japanese swords, Kimono dress,
Hanabi (Fireworks), foods (Soy Sauce, etc), all these Japanese traditional
cultures have been supported by Shinise companies.
If you ever compared the taste of Japanese Soy
Sauce and Chinese Soy Sauce, you would instantly notice absolute difference. Japanese Soy Sauce has stronger Umami flavor
than Chinese Soy Sauce. This absolute difference comes from the result of pursuing
perfection for hundreds of years by those long-established Japanese companies.
The
longer history of companies, the more advanced and accumulated technologies
they develop over the years so that makes culture more deep and sophisticated.
Therefore, it is natural that you can’t
find any traditional cultures in Korea and China since both countries have
almost no long-established company.
I will explain in my next post why China
and Korea couldn’t keep long lasting companies and develop deep cultures. It
has very much to do with their social structures.
