Unlocking the mystery of Japan Part-3 (Continuing from Part-2)
=====Unlocking the mystery of Japan Part-2===================
========================================================
Now, this might be a good opportunity to explain a little bit more about Japan which doesn’t have any cultural connection to China and Korea.
When I lived in Los Angeles, what I felt was that there was no spiritual atmosphere anywhere. That really made me feel strange. And at the same time, I realized that I was from a country which was fundamentally different from the US.
If you are American, since you have Chinese and Korean immigrants in your country, you may well think that there is no difference, we are all the same humans. But Japanese people are very different from Chinese and Koreans in a way of thinking for religion.
Chinese and Koreans are similar to Americans when it comes to religion. They have only one God (Christianity) or Buddha to worship. However, Japanese people have two idols to worship. One is Buddha, and the other one is Japanese God (Shinto) or in a rare case, Christianity and Shinto. Current Japanese Prime Minister Abe is a Christian but also worships Shinto since he is Japanese. These two religions are inseparable in Japanese life.
It is generally recognized that Buddhism is for after life, Shinto is for present life.
If you ever lived in Japan especially in those urban cities like Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka, you wouldn’t notice genuine Japanese life and culture. Those urban cities are less spiritual but in country side, everything is very spiritual and traditional.
I grew up in a typical traditional village which had more than 400 years of history.
So naturally I know quite deeply about traditional Japanese culture.
In Japan, it is said that there are 8,800,000 gods and fairies. Those gods and fairies are everywhere, in a mountain, river, fall, even in a bathroom. So Japanese people are always paying respect to those things.
I’ll give you a good example for how Japanese people are spiritually oriented with Shinto. Please see the attached image below.
These are called “Omamori (O-ma-mo-li)”. You can buy them at large shrines in Japan.
What it is like a Portable Spiritual Power Enhancer or Spiritual Protector, so to speak.
Shinto priest put spiritual power into Omamori to impart the power of Japanese gods
Depending on each shrine, different purpose of Omamori is available. At some shrines, Omamori for protecting a driver from a car accident or your health is available.
Each shrine has a different kind of Japanese god. At some shrine, the god is known for very superior in intelligent so the Omamori for passing an exam is available that is very popular among students. There is a shrine known for blessing with children so a couple, who’d like to have a baby, goes to get the Omamori. There is also a shrine known for God of battle so its Omamori is popular among athletes. For example, Judo players have the Omamori sewn into their black belts.
Average Japanese people have three kinds of Omamori. One for good health, another one for protecting a driver from a car accident, and the last one is for good luck for overall meanings.
Japanese people’s mental strength is all coming from Shinto (Japanese Gods). Shinto is what makes Japanese people Japanese.
When Japanese people are all up against the wall such as a moment when they live or die, they grasp the Omamori in their hands and pray for Japanese Gods. It’s just like Christians grasping a cross when it is at the moment of truth.
These kinds of spiritual practices don’t exist in China and Korea because Japan is fundamentally different country from China and Korea. That’s why Chinese and Koreans always complain when Japanese President visits Yasukuni shrine. Well, it is said by many scholars and specialists, for Chinese government, when they complain against Japanese President visiting Yasukuni shrine, it is for the purpose of emphasizing they were the victims of Japan so that they could use it to raise nationalism and avert the eyes of Chinese people away from domestic problems. China is a very unstable country always the president is in danger of being attacked by assassins because people are all suppressed by the government. So it is important for China to keep raising the anti-Japanese propaganda to control people for order sake.
For Koreans, it is the same as China using it for a political purpose but there are more to it. Korean people simply would like to insult Japanese culture. Insulting other culture is the typical Korean mentality. Yes, Koreans are very rude people for sure because there is no concept of paying respect to others in Korean culture.
One of the biggest differences between Chinese and Koreans is that Chinese people can respect other cultures because Chinese people have confidence in their great cultures. In another word, Chinese people don’t have inferiority complex in their culture like Koreans.
Since old time, like about 1,400 years ago, Chinese Emperor paid respect and called Japanese ‘Emperor’ instead of ‘King’. That means China was treating Japan as an equally ranked country. And even now, China is the same. When a huge earthquake hit northern part of Japan in 2011, a lot of condolence messages were sent to Japanese Emperor from countries all over the world including China but there was only one country which sent their message to Japanese President instead of Japanese Emperor. Guess which country? It was South Korea. Hahaha. The only country and people in the whole world can never pay any respect to Japanese Emperor are South Korea and Koreans. Why? Well, it is said by many scholars and specialists because Korea was treated and ranked low in the old days by China. And China called the man who ruled the entire Korea ‘Korean King’ instead of ‘Emperor’. King was a name ranked lower than Emperor. So the only country and people in the whole world that can’t call it “Japanese Emperor” are South Korea and Korean people. They call it “Japanese King”. Hahaha.
We Japanese people can read Korean and Chinese newspapers on the web but we always find only Korean newspapers use the word “Japanese King”. Korean people don’t want to accept that fact Japan was ranked higher than Korea.
And you know what’s convenient? There is a way to spot Korean pedigree.
If you are westerners or people from other part of the world, it will be hard for you to tell which one of them is Japanese, Chinese, or Korean when you look at East Asians. But like I said, Korean is the only pedigree in the world which can never respect Japanese Emperor. So you can fish them with a question like "Do you respect Japanese 'Emperor'?" If he or she replied with a word “I don’t like Japanese Emperor”, then he or she would be Chinese because he or she didn't mind using the name 'Emperor'. But if he or she replied “I don’t like Japanese KING”, then he or she would be Korean because he or she was refusing to use the name "Emperor".
If he or she replied, “Of course I do!” then he or she would be Japanese for sure. But if he or she had a Japanese nationality (passport) yet replied, “I don’t like Japanese Emperor”, then he or she could be Korean Japanese (Japanese nationality but with a Korean pedigree) because Korean Japanese don't mind calling the name 'Emperor' since they grew up in Japan hearing the name but definitely hate Japanese Emperor because they don't want to admit that Japan was ranked higher than Korea. (I'll explain more details about it in Part-4. It's a very funny reason)
It’s a great litmus test for Japanese people to find ‘Anti-Japanese people’ in Japan.
As the matter of fact, the politicians of Japanese Communist Party, who are mostly Korean Japanese, leave the congress when Japanese Emperor visits for greeting. And Japanese Communist Party is openly proclaiming “Let’s abolish Japanese Emperor!”
They are so eager to abolish Japanese culture and Shinto because they have a Korean pedigree.
You might start noticing the real reason for why Korean people keep fabricating their history trying to perpetuate Japan as an absolute evil.
Why only South Koreans are still whining while equally treated and merged Taiwanese are loving and appreciating Japan now? The answer is Korean people’s crooked minds.
Now, why only Korean people in the whole world feel inferiority complex is the key to understand Korean people’s peculiar way of thinking and behavior. You can’t find people like Koreans always making lies and complaints and feeling inferiority complex and jealous at the same time. Those elements are really driving themselves crazy. And indeed, they really are crazy. Hahaha.
In part-4, I will explain those details from introducing the opinions of the experts. You will find out very interesting aspects of Korean and Japanese people. And I hope I will be able to explain what kind of influence was given to each people by different national characters.
