<<Japanese TV commercials>>

It will take a little more time to complete the next series of “Only in Korea”.
In a meanwhile, I will talk about what’s going on in Japan.

Did you know instant noodle was invented by Japan?
It was invented by “Momofuku Ando” the founder of Nissin Food Products Co., Ltd in 1958.
I love Nissin Cup noodle since I was a kid. And I always stock them.

Here are some of the comments posted at Amazon.com.

==========================
"This original Nissin Cup Noodle has been around in Japan for many decades. Tastes so much better than the cheaper US version (you get what you pay for...). Its noodle and broth are very similar to those of "Chicken Ramen (another Nissin instant noodle brand)." Yet the flavor of the Cup Noodle is intensified by dried shrimp, mysterious meat and egg toppings."

"The original (Soy sauce) flavor is the bestselling flavor in Japan. I wonder why they made the American version so different. This is mild and clean taste with so much chunks of eggs and shrimps. I got hooked on this during my trip in Japan and I was glad to find it here. I wish Nissin sell this version in the U.S. Market instead of their cheap, tasteless ones."

Anyway, here in Japan, Nissin Cup noodle’s TV commercial has always been as hot as their noodles.

Native Japanese athletes clad in ancient Samurai armors and play modern sports.
Very cool isn’t it?

Since old time, when a boy was born in Japan, the family buys a steel Samurai helmet to celebrate and wish good luck in his future.
The Samurai warrior helmet isn’t actual size to wear but small size only for display during the time until May 5th which is Children’s Day. It is actually celebrating only boys so it is “Boys Day”. There is a celebration day for girls too which is on March 3rd called “Hina Matsuri (Girls Day)”.
So the traditional cultures continue since ancient time because they actually existed in history of Japan.

Speaking of Samurai, I was surprised to find out that Darth Vader in Star Wars film was created based on the image of Samurai Warrior.
That being pointed out, indeed Darth Vader really starts looking like Samurai Warrior. The shape of the helmet and the way he maneuvers Lightsaber with both hands just like the way Samurai Warrior maneuvers a Japanese sword with both hands.

It’s funny despite Japan and US fought against each other during 2nd World War, both countries quickly put aside their past and enjoyed cultural differences each other immediately.

I am one of those Japanese who got deeply influenced by Western movies.
See the attached pictures? I bought the Colt SAA last year from Tanaka Works.
It came in a wooden box. It cost about $1,000 on the high end, but when considering girls buying $3,000 or $6,000 Louis Vuitton bag, it is nothing.

It has a wonderful sequential metal clicking sound when cocking the hammer.
Japan is one of the most countries loving Western movie since old time.

I am the evidence. I never can get enough of them.
