There are a lot of things happened for the last two weeks.
There is no way I can write everything that happened in the last two weeks.
So I picked MERS news.

As I told you two weeks ago that South Korean government switched to Self-reporting style to collect the information about the number of infected patients and possible suspects of MERS infection.
Since then, it has been apparently slowing down the spread of the disease.  But nobody knows the actual status since nobody is tracking down the possible suspects for quarantine.
Then on July 1st, E.Jong a representative of W.H.O(World Health Organization) from Korea said on the interview that the reason W.H.O suggested South Korea to have a unit for collaborative research was only because South Korea had been secretive about the outbreak, thus W.H.O wanted to investigate the actual condition in Korea.

So there's been a lot of speculations going on about the outbreak of MERS. But nobody knows much about South Korea. It's like North Korea. Very secretive. Hahahaha

Korean Air and Asiana Air ceased many flights between Japan and South Korea at local airports . And it is expected to continue until August.
Many sources report the number of tourists visiting South Korea has dropped 80% compared to the same period of the last year.

On June 22nd, the U.S government designated South Korea as a country caution and gave a warning to medical professionals to be cautious about handling the tourists who have the symptoms of MERS infection.

South Korean government is antsy and wants to call the end of the outbreak anytime soon but the number of MERS infected patients has been continually increasing.
Last time on June 17th, I reported the number of infected patients was 162 but it's 186 as of today.  The number of dead people from the infection has also increased from 20 to 33 now.

So South Korean government came up with a new solution to make up the lost tourists.
The government announced that they'd make visa fees free. Usually a tourist has to pay $15.00 for visa. In addition to that, Chinese tourists who's got visas from Japan, can visit South Korea without visa from Korea.
To this desperate attempt, many Japanese people who read this news are laughing. "Why Korea is accepting the tourists who have only Japanese visas? Does South Korean government think that they are still a part of Japan?" "I thought they got independent from Japan 70 years ago. Was I wrong?" Hahaha

According to Korean News "Chosun Nippo", many shopping malls in Seoul Korea had a huge sale in a desperate attempt to lure customers into shopping from June 26th till 28th.
The discount rate was from 30% to as much as 90% off! This news was of course megaphoned thru media in Japan, China, and many other Asian countries.

In the editorial published on July 2nd, Korean News "Chou Nippo" criticized Korea as below.
"The infected patients and their families didn't behave like people in developed countries and made lies to medical professionals was part of reason for the outbreak"
"Didn't the attitude of refusing to carry any responsibilities and risks but instead blaming everything on others and pursuing only for your own selfishness, result in  all people which include the medical authority, hospital, and infected patients, trying to hide the truth without feeling a bit of guilty?"

I wish they could have the same point of view about the comfort women issue.
"Pursuing only your own selfishness and shamelessly making lies without feeling a bit of guilty".
